a shiny new idea
lil writing update
Hello my lovelies! I hope everyone is well and having a good Tuesday - I have not done anything today but rot in my bed :)
But despite that, I have great news! *drum roll*… I have a new writing project! I’m keeping it *somewhat* of a secret for now (except my close friends now) just to lessen the pressure.
I’ve realised, as most writers will understand, in the publishing industry, the pressure to become tech savvy on social media and practically become influencers is tenfold right now. To constantly post all the time: What are you doing? What new WIPS are you working on? Anything to keep the algorithm working in your favour, the rise of followers and a good flow of social interaction.
That being said, I am a dramatic bitch and I love to talk about my WIPs… and this one is one I’ve been cooking for a while. So… Here’s a meme to explain what my (not so) secret wip is about:
Ehe memes are my love language if you didn’t know.
But basically this book is my love letter to the Scottish Highlands where I basically grew up every summer holiday. Unlike other kids who went abroad and returned in September with a fresh new tan, my family preferred to holiday in the cold climates, specifically anywhere in the northern parts of England and Scotland. Instead of spending our holiday swimming in a pool or lounging on sun-beds, we preferred to hike up mountains, venture through history, and discover beautiful, and most often, destroyed castles.
Spending my summer in the highlands of Scotland was the best moments of my childhood. It gave me inspiration as a writer and a reader; the worlds I read in my fantasy books mirrored the stunning landscape around me.
Unfortunately, due to life and health changes, I haven’t visited the highlands of Scotland in years. I hope to show my partner all of it in the future. But for now, I am content with writing my experiences of Scotland, the rural highlands, and the Gaelic culture in my standalone book.
Speaking of my book, if you love women and nature, and believe women possess the divine power of creation, then I think you’ll like my book - I’ll make sure to update more as the drafting process continues.
In other news, we’re in March! - aka we’re getting closer to the end of the beta process in The Masked Princess. At the end of this month, I cannot wait to get back into the world of Aubrath, dragons, backstabbing and politics. It’s been five long months of missing Willa, Efia, Drazhan and Saera. I am excited to get back into writing and editing - I have a lot more ideas I want to add and discussions with my beta readers on what the liked or didn’t like and how to improve it.
I hope everyone has a lovely March and thankfully the sun is out a lot more nowadays (we really are like plants huh) and things will get better… hopefully…
I love you all <3 <3

Sooooo excited about your secret wip. It's going to be SO GOOD.
That's so cool.
I always wanted to visit Scotland.
